Love this ‘end of the year’ holiday season! Have days off from work, kids are off from school …and so the normal routine is out the window! Our close friends are visiting us and so both the kids and the adults are having a super time. For the past week our daily schedule has been something like – wake up at 9 AM 9.30 AM , eat breakfast (along with some of the home baked goodies 🙂 ), laze around till noon then make lunch – its so much fun when you have a couple more hands helping you out in the kitchen,  then have an afternoon siesta, wake up and spend time looking at old pictures, get ready for evening partying, take lots of pictures etc etc. Oh how I wish this could go on forever!

Actually as you can probably guess I am not in a mood to even write a post. I wasn’t really planning to until the next year. But this afternoon as I was wondering what dessert to bring for another dinner party (party # 4! ), I came up with this easy and brilliant idea – Vanilla ice cream with home made chocolate fudge sauce and lots of toppings!  So that’s how I decided to try making a homemade fudge sauce and it turned out simply great. Took just10 minutes! My friend’s daughter N was my helper. She is just 9 just like my own daughter but she loves to cook and bake. How adorable isn’t it? This is such an easy recipe that kids can also try making this on their own  with some adult supervision.

This is such an easy recipe and I don’t think I will buy store bought chocolate syrup anymore.  This sauce/syrup has only 4 ingredients and In case you didn’t know, this is what Hershey’s chocolate syrup contains : High Fructose Corn Syrup; Corn Syrup; Water; Cocoa; Sugar; Contains 2% Or Less Of: Potassium Sorbate (Preservative); Salt; Mono- And Diglycerides; Xanthan Gum; Polysorbate 60; Vanillin, Artificial Flavor.  Now that makes the homemade one a clear winner 🙂
