What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional therapy is holistic, evidence based, comprehensive and personalized approach to health and healing. A nutritional therapist uses specific tools and relies on the body’s innate intelligence for assessing nutritional deficiencies and addresses those weaknesses through a nutrient dense, whole foods diet, natural supplements and lifestyle changes.
Nutritional therapy is highly successful in reversing many chronic conditions including diabetes, digestive disorders and autoimmune diseases.
What can I expect in a consulting session?
You will be asked to provide your detailed health history and a 3 day food journal. Then a comprehensive questionnaire will be administered to you to evaluate your nutritional deficiencies and weaknesses. Based on the information gathered from all the above, the nutritional therapist can create a symptom burden graph (like the one shown in the pic below) and assess what key areas you need support with. Based on this, they can provide you with a detailed diet, supplement and lifestyle recommendations aimed at improving your foundations of digestion, fatty acids, blood sugar balance, mineral balance and hydration.
As a Nutritional therapist (NTC) trained by the Nutritional Therapy Association , I have expertise in treating digestive disorders and autoimmune diseases. I have healed my own self from the disability and pain of rheumatoid arthritis, which is an autoimmune condition. I understand what it means to live with chronic pain. When medications alone did not work for me, I looked to healing myself naturally – with diet, supplements and lifestyle changes. Now with all those changes, I have been able to reduce the dose of my medications and more importantly, I have been able to lead a close to normal life pursuing my passions.
